Behaviour Support & Training Services

At Confident Companions, I provide personalised, in-home behaviour and training support designed to help you better understand your dog and build a calm, trusting relationship using fear-free, science-based methods.

Rather than offering one-off advice or generic training, my approach focuses on identifying the underlying cause of behaviour, creating a clear plan, and supporting you through each stage of change.

Because behaviour is not “fixed” in a single session, my services are structured to provide ongoing support where needed, ensuring you feel guided and confident throughout the process.

How my services work

Most clients begin with an Initial Behaviour Consultation, which allows us to take a detailed look at your dog’s behaviour, environment, history, and emotional wellbeing.

From there, I develop a personalised Behaviour Support Plan and guide you through practical, achievable steps tailored to your household.

For many families, continued support sessions are an important part of the process. These follow-up sessions allow us to refine strategies, troubleshoot challenges as they arise, and continue building progress over time.

Initial Behaviour Consultation

This comprehensive in-home session is designed to understand your dog as an individual and identify the factors contributing to their behaviour.

During this consultation, we will cover:

  • A detailed behaviour history

  • Observation of body language and emotional state

  • Environmental and routine assessment

  • Management strategies to support immediate safety and wellbeing

  • Practical training and handling guidance

  • Initial recommendations for behaviour modification

Following your consultation, you will receive a personalised Behaviour Support Plan outlining the strategies discussed and clear next steps.

Ongoing Behaviour Support Sessions

Behaviour change is a process that develops over time, which is why ongoing support sessions are available after your initial consultation.

These sessions are designed to:

  • Continue implementing your Behaviour Support Plan

  • Adjust strategies based on your dog’s progress

  • Troubleshoot new or ongoing challenges

  • Build skills in a structured and achievable way

  • Support both you and your dog through each stage of learning

These sessions ensure you are not left to “figure it out alone” and instead have consistent professional guidance as your dog develops new skills and emotional resilience.
