About Me

I’m a qualified animal behaviourist and veterinary nurse with a passion for helping animals and their families build calmer, more confident, and more connected relationships.

My work combines clinical veterinary experience with extensive hands-on behaviour work across companion animals, rescue environments, and wildlife care. This gives me a well-rounded understanding of animal behaviour from both a medical and behavioural perspective, allowing me to consider the full picture when working with each individual case.

My background

My journey in animal care began in veterinary nursing, where I developed a strong foundation in animal health, welfare, and low-stress handling techniques. Working in clinical environments gave me valuable experience supporting animals through medical procedures, anxiety-provoking situations, and recovery, while always prioritising emotional wellbeing.

Alongside veterinary nursing, I have worked extensively as a behaviourist within rescue organisations, supporting dogs and cats with a wide range of behavioural challenges. This has included animals with histories of fear, anxiety, reactivity, trauma, and limited early socialisation. Working in rescue settings strengthened my understanding of how environment, experience, and early development shape behaviour, and the importance of compassionate, individualised support.

I also have experience working with wildlife, which has deepened my appreciation for species-specific behaviour, natural communication signals, and the importance of respecting an animal’s instinctive needs and boundaries.

In addition to my professional work, I have fostered and rehabilitated animals in my own home, many of whom have become permanent members of my family. This has given me first-hand experience in the day-to-day reality of behaviour modification, rehabilitation, and helping animals transition from survival-based behaviour into safety, trust, and stability.

Qualifications & Professional Background

  • Qualified Veterinary Nurse (VN)

  • Qualified Animal Behaviourist

  • Ongoing professional development in canine and feline behaviour science

  • Fear-free Certified

My approach

I specialise in understanding the emotional experience behind behaviour, rather than simply focusing on outward symptoms.

My approach is:

  • Fear-free and force-free

  • Based on modern behavioural science and learning theory

  • Individualised to each animal and household

  • Focused on long-term emotional wellbeing, not quick fixes

  • Grounded in practical, achievable strategies for real-life situations

I work with dogs and cats across a wide range of behavioural concerns, including anxiety, reactivity, aggression, fear-based behaviours, multi-pet household dynamics, and early development in puppies and kittens.

Why this matters

Behaviour is influenced by a combination of emotional state, environment, learning history, and physical health. My veterinary nursing background, combined with my rescue, wildlife, and foster experience, allows me to consider all of these factors when developing behaviour support plans.

This integrated approach ensures that recommendations are not only effective, but also ethical, realistic, and supportive of each animal’s overall wellbeing.

My goal

My goal is to help you better understand your animal, improve communication, and create a relationship built on trust, confidence, and mutual understanding.

I believe that when we take the time to understand behaviour properly, we can create lasting change that improves both behaviour and quality of life for animals and their families.

Every animal has a story. My role is to help you understand it, and support you both in writing the next chapter.
